Soccer Recap: Rincon/University Comes Up Short

Rincon/University lost against Marana on January 10th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Rincon/University Rangers came up short against the Marana Tigers, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, the Rangers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 137th, while the Tigers are ranked 42nd).

Rincon/University has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10-3 record this season. As for Marana, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rincon/University has already played their next game (against Tucson High Magnet School), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Marana will square off against Sunnyside at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Marana is facing Sunnyside at the right time seeing as Sunnyside is stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
