Amherst County entered their tilt with Rustburg on Thursday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Red Devils 3-0. The Lancers were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Red Devils, so the Lancers were just returning the favor.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-20, 25-18.

Despite the loss, Rustburg saw an underclassman step up: freshman Peyton Lowes had 11 digs. Those 11 digs set a new season-high mark for Lowes.

Amherst County's win bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Rustburg, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-6.
