The Eastlake Wolves will take on the Skyline Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Eastlake is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.

Eastlake came into this matchup off a tough 12-run defeat on Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Liberty by a score of 7-5 on Friday. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Heather Lloyd made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Hannah Arnold, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Skyline faced Ballard in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Skyline came out on top in a nail-biter against Ballard, sneaking past 2-1. While the Spartans didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Addison McGillis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Skyline's win was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ella MacDonald, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Shea Staley also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Eastlake's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Skyline, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Eastlake came out on top in a nail-biter against Skyline in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 5-4. Will Eastlake repeat their success, or does Skyline has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
