Softball Game Preview: Clinton Dragons vs. Cumberland Gap Panthers

The Clinton Dragons will head out to face off against the Cumberland Gap Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Clinton has five straight wins, Cumberland Gap has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Clinton proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by eight) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Greeneville 4-2.

Meanwhile, Cumberland Gap came up short against Union County on Thursday, falling 13-1.

Clinton's win bumped their record up to 13-3-1. As for Cumberland Gap, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

Clinton beat Cumberland Gap 3-0 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Clinton since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
