Volleyball Recap: Sunnyside Takes a Loss

Sunnyside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pueblo Warriors. If the Blue Devils were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Warriors when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Pueblo was led to victory by Mia Beltran and Anette Urquijo. Beltran had 24 assists, while Urquijo had eight kills, seven aces, and four digs. That's the most assists Beltran has posted over her last seven matchups.

Sunnyside's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Pueblo, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-4 record.

Sunnyside wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Flowing Wells on the 4th. As for Pueblo, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Sahuaro on the 4th.
