Softball Game Preview: Mater Dei Monarchs vs. Orange Lutheran Lancers

Mater Dei is 2-8 against Orange Lutheran since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Monarchs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lancers at 3:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Mater Dei 3.3, Orange Lutheran 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Mater Dei is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 13 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against JSerra Catholic on Friday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions.

Meanwhile, Orange Lutheran unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Santa Margarita by a score of 4-2.

Mater Dei's loss dropped their record down to 16-11-1. As for Orange Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-4.
