Baseball Recap: Conemaugh Township Wins Going Away Against River Valley

Conemaugh Township had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt River Valley on Wednesday. The Conemaugh Township Indians were the clear victor by a 17-2 margin over the River Valley Panthers. The Indians have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Colin Dinyar made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brennan Lohr, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. DJ Bambino was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Conemaugh Township always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as River Valley only posted an OBP of .389.

Conemaugh Township's record is now 2-0. As for River Valley, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
