North Valleys is 1-8 against Fernley since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. Last Friday, North Valleys really took it to Sparks for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-28 victory. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-13.

It was another big night for Joshua Collins, who went 9 of 15 on his way to 20 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Kadyn Shackelford, who went 5 for 8 en route to 13 points.

Collins wasn't the only one working in the assists department: North Valleys was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sparks only posted three assists.

Meanwhile, Fernley faced Dayton in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Fernley took a 51-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dayton.

The win made it two in a row for North Valleys and bumps their season record up to 12-4. As for Fernley, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-6.

North Valleys might still be hurting after the 63-40 loss they got from Fernley in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Thankfully for North Valleys, Anthony Winters (who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 assists) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
