Softball Game Preview: Antioch Panthers vs. Pittsburg Pirates

The Antioch Panthers will head out to face off against the Pittsburg Pirates at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Antioch has given up an average of 12.6 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Antioch lost 18-2 to Heritage on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by exactly 16 runs.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pittsburg). Everything went their way against Deer Valley on Thursday as they made off with a 17-7 victory. That's two games straight that the Pirates have won by exactly ten runs.

Pittsburg's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-15. As for Antioch, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-13.

Antioch skirted past Pittsburg 10-9 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
