Basketball Recap: Bronson Takes a Loss

If Bronson was riding high fresh off their 48-13 takedown of Ocala Christian last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bronson Eagles took a blow against the Chiefland Indians on Tuesday, falling 67-23. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 477th, while the Indians are ranked 197th).

Despite the loss, Bronson saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Andrea Schuler posted 11 points.

Leading Chiefland to victory were Laila Ingram and Nyasia Bivins. Ingram earned 17 points and eight steals, while Bivins scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Ingram is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Riley Davies, who had 12 points.

Bronson's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Chiefland, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-3.

Bronson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 36-30 win against First Christian on the 30th. Chiefland has also already played their next contest, a 52-29 loss against Hawthorne on the 30th.
