Volleyball Recap: West Holt Now 9-3 over Last 12 Games

West Holt hadn't done well against Elgin/Pope John recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Huskies came out on top against the Wolfpack by a score of 2-0. For the Huskies, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 win the Wolfpack walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

While West Holt won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-22.

Monica Chavez paced West Holt's offense, picking up six kills. Chavez got some help from Pavan Larson and her 18 assists. Avery Nemetz controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

West Holt has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Elgin/Pope John, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 12-4.

Coincidentally, West Holt and Elgin/Pope John will both be playing Plainview the next time they take the court. The Huskies will head out to face the Pirates at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, while the Wolfpack will play them later in the day, at 5:30 p.m.
