Soccer Recap: Southwestern Comes Up Short

After flying high against Metro-East Lutheran last Monday, Southwestern came back down to earth. The Piasa Birds came up short against the Greenville Comets on Monday, falling 4-0. Southwestern haven't had much luck with Greenville recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Southwestern's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13-1. As for Greenville, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southwestern will welcome Mater Dei at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Southwestern are facing Mater Dei at the right time seeing as Mater Dei are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Greenville, they will look to defend their home pitch on Tuesday against Breese Central at 4:30 p.m.
