Basketball Game Preview: McClintock Chargers vs. Fairfax Stampede

The McClintock Chargers will face off against the Fairfax Stampede at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

McClintock will face Fairfax after dropping another heartbreaker against Kellis on Friday, which marked the second time in a row the team's come within 3.1 of beating them. McClintock took a 58-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kellis. The Chargers' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Fairfax had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 49 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They blew past the Knights 82-3. The Stampede have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 31 points or more this season.

Fairfax's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-8. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.3 points per game. As for McClintock, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-7.

McClintock was able to grind out a solid win over Fairfax in their previous meeting back in January, winning 48-36. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Fairfax's Mel Romero, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
