Basketball Recap: Monacan Picks Up Seventh Straight Win at Home

Monacan extended their home winning streak to seven games thanks to a huge performance from Amare Cooper. The Monacan Chiefs came out on top against the Midlothian Trojans by a score of 69-58 on Wednesday thanks in part to Cooper, who went 7 of 12 en route to 20 points. The match was his fifth in a row with at least ten points.

Mikey Tunstall was another key player, putting up six points. That's the most points he has posted since back in January of 2024.

Monacan's win bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Midlothian, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season.

Monacan wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 78-25 victory against Richmond City School of the Arts on the 6th. As for Midlothian, they will be playing at home against Cosby at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Cosby's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matchups.
