Basketball Recap: Chase Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Chase had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were outmatched by the Kinsley Coyotes and fell 60-14. The Kats just can't catch a break and have now endured 19 defeats in a row dating back to last season.

Duncan MacLaren was Chase's leading scorer, having posted five points. Carlos Rincon held things down on the boards with six rebounds.

Kinsley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Joey Prieto out in front who went 7 of 10 on his way to 16 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Meza, who posted 11 points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Chase didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 71-10 loss against Lincoln on the 9th. As for Kinsley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 75-29 defeat against Hoisington on the 10th.
