Volleyball Game Preview: Enka Jets vs. Hendersonville Bearcats

After both having extra time off, the Enka Jets and the Hendersonville Bearcats will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Enka will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

Enka is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of North Carolina's top teams: T.C. Roberson, who was ranked 21st at the time (Enka was ranked eighth). The Jets walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Rams two weeks ago.

While Enka might've won, it sure wasn't easy: T.C. Roberson scored at least 21 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 21-25, 25-23, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Hendersonville came up short against North Henderson on Thursday, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Bearcats in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost three in a row.

Hendersonville may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored zero points in every single set they played. The final score came out to 25-0, 25-0, 25-0.

Hendersonville now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Enka, they pushed their record up to 9-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Everything went Enka's way against Hendersonville in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Enka made off with a 3-0 victory. Will the Jets repeat their success, or do the Bearcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
