Football Recap: Jeffersonville Red Devils vs. Floyd Central Highlanders

Jeffersonville won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They were beaten by the Floyd Central Highlanders 41-14. The loss continues a trend for the Red Devils in their matchups with the Highlanders: they've now lost five in a row.

Riko Wright threw for 102 yards and a touchdown while completing 75% of his passes. Cam Hollaway was his top target, picking up 60 receiving yards.

Sebastion Robertson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 174 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry for Floyd Central. Robertson's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 152 rushing yards dating back to last season. Jack Mull was another key player, throwing for 195 yards and two touchdowns.

The defeat snapped Jeffersonville's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-2 record. As for Floyd Central, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Jeffersonville will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Silver Creek. As for Floyd Central, they will welcome Columbus East at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Floyd Central knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Columbus East likes a good challenge.
