Softball Recap: Milan Triumphs

Milan got themselves on the board against South Ripley on Wednesday, but South Ripley never followed suit. They didn't even let the Raiders on the board, marking their second-straight 10-0 shutout. The win continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won seven in a row.

Kynadee Bode made a splash while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Milan let Kayleigh McIntosh and Emma Voss run wild. McIntosh went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Voss went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Milan's victory bumped their record up to 16-8. As for South Ripley, they moved to 7-11 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Coming up, Milan will take on Southwestern at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rebels have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season. As for South Ripley, they will challenge New Washington at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
