Baseball Recap: Christian Brothers' Undefeated Season over After Four Games

Christian Brothers suffered their closest loss since May 7, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of the Howell Vikings by a score of 5-3. The Cadets haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Christian Brothers got a good showing from George Shaw, who pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. The dominant performance also gave Shaw a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

On the hitting side, Braden Schreimann was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That run marked the first that he scored this season. Another player making a difference was Corde Gage, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one stolen base.

Having lost for the first time this season, Christian Brothers fell to 3-1. As for Howell, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 4-0.

Looking ahead, Christian Brothers will take on Troy-Buchanan at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Howell, they will challenge Edwardsville at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
