Moore Catholic had won six straight games and Brianna Caliri did her part to make it seven on Sunday. The Moore Catholic Mavericks came out on top against East New York Family Academy by a score of 65-57 thanks in part to Caliri, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Moore Catholic's points.

East New York Family Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Amariah Clyne, who went 7 of 14 on her way to 18 points and eight boards. That's the most points Clyne has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Arianna Mercado, who posted 17 points and five assists.

Moore Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 14-1. As for East New York Family Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-6.

Moore Catholic will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Maria Regina at 6:30 p.m. on February 5th. Moore Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Maria Regina likes a good challenge. As for East New York Family Academy, they will challenge Bergtraum at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. East New York Family Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.2 points per game this season.
