Softball Recap: Bridgeport Central Hilltoppers vs. Wilton Warriors
Bridgeport Central extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 2-10-1 in the process. They lost 15-1 to the Wilton Warriors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hilltoppers of the 14-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.
As for Wilton, their record is now 8-12. That 14 run margin sets a new team best for them this season.
For Wilton's part, Lily Wang was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Wang was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Annie McMahon, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Katie McKay, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
