Football Recap: Holmes' Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Holmes waltzed into their game on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Bertie Falcons as they made off with a 56-30 victory. The Aces might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by 26 points or more this season.

Holmes didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kazzure Downing and Jbreyon Gilliam. Downing also rushed for 186 rushing yards, which is notable because Holmes is 3-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-3 otherwise.

The win got Holmes back to even at 4-4. As for Bertie, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Holmes wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 59-21 victory against Perquimans on the 24th. As for Bertie, they have also already played their next game, a 46-8 loss against Gates County on the 24th.
