Football Recap: Port Isabel Gets the Win

If Hidalgo Early College wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Port Isabel, they should've done a better job of containing Luis Ramos. The Tarpons simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Pirates 61-7 thanks in part to Ramos, who rushed for 262 yards on only eight carries. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 102 rushing yards.

When it comes to explaining why Hidalgo Early College lost, don't look at Roberto Gallegos. Despite the final result, he rushed for 87 yards and one touchdown.

The victory got Port Isabel back to even at 2-2. As for Hidalgo Early College, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

The Tarpons will be up against the Yellowjackets' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
