Recap: Encina Prep Bulldogs vs. Highlands Scots
The Encina Prep Bulldogs had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past Highlands 92-52 on the road on Monday. Encina Prep has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 20 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Phillip Worsham, who went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 28 points and 7 assists. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. Sergio De La Cruz was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and ten assists.
The victory was the third in a row for Encina Prep, bringing their record for this year to 17-6. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 59.3 points. As for Highlands, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season.
Encina Prep won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Union Mine at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th. One thing working in Union Mine's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. Highlands does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
