Football Recap: Suncoast Skates Past Leonard with Ease

After low-scoring totals in their previous four game, Suncoast brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Leonard Lancers 36-6. The Chargers haven't had any issues with the Lancers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Suncoast's defense and their five sacks. In that department, Omari Sommons was the leader with two.

Suncoast's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Leonard, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, Suncoast will head out to square off against Dillard at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Chargers will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Leonard, they will face off against Santaluces at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lancers will be up against the Chiefs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.2 points per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
