Basketball Recap: Columbia Independent Falls Despite Big Games from Deolu Adibiyi and Blake Morris

Columbia Independent lost against Tuscumbia back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Columbia Independent fell 56-46 to the Tuscumbia Lions.

Columbia Independent's loss came despite strong showings from Blake Morris and Deolu Adibiyi. Morris almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds, while Adibiyi posted 16 points. The match was Morris' 14th in a row with at least 16 points.

Even though they lost, Columbia Independent smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.

Columbia Independent now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Tuscumbia, they pushed their record up to 6-14 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Columbia Independent does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tuscumbia, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Lions take on the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
