Game recap: Lamar High School Football Team beats North Shore

HOUSTON, Texas - Lamar (Houston, Texas) snapped the 5-game winning streak of North Shore (Houston, Texas), with a 28-7 victory on Saturday.

The Redskins were up 7-0 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Darrell Colbert in the first quarter.

Lamar expanded its lead to 21 points entering the fourth quarter. LHS scored two times in the third, including once on a Cory Mitchell touchdown run.



With the win the Redskins extended their winning streak to 14 games. Lamar defeated the Tigers 24-7 last week.

Jared Pendleton made a difference for the Mustangs. The senior running back ran for one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to 11 on the year.

Colbert played well for LHS in the victory. The junior quarterback threw two touchdowns and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored 10 touchdowns on the season.

North Shore's lone touchdown came on a 1-yard run by Pendleton in the fourth quarter.

The Redskins went into the matchup giving up only 9.0 points per game. NS's seven points were well below its season average of 28.6 per game.

The loss comes after North Shore defeated Alief Elsik 17-10 last week.
