Softball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Dell Rapids' Eighth in Last Ten Outings

Dell Rapids got themselves on the board against Lennox on Thursday, but Lennox never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Orioles. Considering the Quarriers have won nine games by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Katie Kvigne made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Elly Olson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Emma Lanpher was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Dell Rapids is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Lennox, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.

Dell Rapids will take on Chester at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lennox, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-0 defeat against St. Mary on the 8th.
