Softball Game Preview: Houghton Gremlins vs. Hancock Bulldogs

The Houghton Gremlins are taking a road trip to square off against the Hancock Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Houghton has given up an average of 8 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Houghton lost 15-3 to Gladstone on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Gremlins in their meetings with the Braves: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Hancock didn't have quite enough to beat Calumet on Monday and fell 10-9.

Hancock has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.33 runs. As for Houghton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Houghton couldn't quite finish off Hancock in their previous meeting back in April and fell 5-3. Can the Gremlins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
