Basketball Recap: Kinlee Montgomery's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Glencoe over Sardis

If Glencoe was riding high fresh off their 58-25 takedown of West End last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Glencoe Yellowjackets received a blow on Wednesday as they fell 67-48 to the Sardis Lions. The Yellowjackets haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Several Yellowjackets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kinlee Montgomery, who posted 13 points and three steals. Montgomery is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sarah Ponder, who had 11 points.

Glencoe's defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Sardis, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Glencoe will challenge Piedmont at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Sardis, they will take on Boaz at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th.
