Basketball Recap: Kent-Meridian Comes Up Short

Kent-Meridian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 56-5 loss at the hands of the Beamer Titans. The Royals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-5.

Beamer's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kiana Smiley, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. Smiley has been hot recently, having posted ten or more boards the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jane Wanjiku, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten steals.

Kent-Meridian's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Beamer, their record is now 3-18.

As of now, neither Kent-Meridian nor Beamer have any future games scheduled.
