League recap: Depew's Emmons delivers best pitching performance from past week

Frisco league recap: 3/13/13

Frisco's top pitcher this week was Depew's Kyle Emmons. He won one game and struck out 14 batters.

Top honors in the league this week go to the Hornets, which finished with four wins overall, good for best in the league. Depew beat Mason 22-5, Yale 8-7, Mounds 8-0 and the Bulldogs 17-8.

The Hornets' pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only 15 hits and 15 walks, both of which led the league.

Ranking first in average, hits and runs batted in, Depew's Emmons has been the league's most productive player at the plate this season. He has been a tough out all season, and has compiled 14 hits and 15 RBIs while batting .700.

The top hitter in the league this week was the Hornets' Emmons, who ranked ahead of all other players in average, hits and runs batted in. Emmons notched eight hits and 11 RBIs, all while batting .667.



Emmons was an RBI machine on Thursday, as he knocked in four runs during Depew's 22-5 win over the Eagles. He went 2-for-3 and scored three runs.

Emmons went 3-for-3 as the Hornets defeated Kiefer 11-3 on Tuesday. He rounded out his day with one run batted in and two runs scored.
