Basketball Game Preview: North Side Steers vs. Polytechnic Parrots

The North Side Steers will square off against the Polytechnic Parrots at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Side is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.

On Friday, North Side was beaten by Paschal 81-44. While losing is never fun, the Steers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1270th, while the Panthers are ranked 178th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Polytechnic, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in December of 2024. They skirted past Wyatt 30-28. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Parrots have posted since December 1, 2023.

Polytechnic's win bumped their record up to 8-11. As for North Side, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-13.

North Side didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Polytechnic in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 40-36 victory. Will North Side repeat their success, or does Polytechnic have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
