Basketball Recap: Heritage Christian Falls Despite Big Games from Andrew Regnerus and Calvin Engelsma

After flying high against Oakhill Christian on Friday, Heritage Christian came back down to earth. The Heritage Christian Defenders fell just short of Quentin Road Christian by a score of 45-42 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Defenders have suffered since February 15, 2024.

Despite the loss, Heritage Christian had strong showings from Calvin Engelsma, who went 6 for 12 en route to 15 points, and Andrew Regnerus, who posted five points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance gave Engelsma a new career-high in points.

Heritage Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Quentin Road Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-3.

Heritage Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Badger State Baptist at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
