Recap: Layton Lancers vs. Davis Darts
The Layton Lancers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 60-34 loss at the hands of Davis. Layton has not had much luck with Davis recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Layton lost, one person who can't be blamed is Oakley Homer. Despite the final result, she scored 12 points. That was a full 35.3% of Layton's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Katlynn Spendlove was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Layton bumped their record down to 5-10 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Davis, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Layton will take on Farmington at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Davis, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Syracuse at 5:15 p.m. Syracuse is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
