It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact New Bern can now relate to. They fell just short of the Clayton Comets by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. New Bern's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Spencer Goodwin wasn't going to let Clayton walk away unscathed as he scored both of New Bern's goals, bringing his season total up to 40 goals.

New Bern's defeat dropped their record down to 17-4. As for Clayton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3-1 record this season.

New Bern does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Clayton, they have already played their next match, a 1-0 win against Heritage on the 10th.
