Softball Recap: Bethesda Christian Triumphs

Bethesda Christian won the last time they faced Greenwood Christian Academy and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Patriots walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Cougars. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.

Annah Heath spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on seven hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Makaleigh Brann, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one triple. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Hana Henry also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.

Bethesda Christian's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Greenwood Christian Academy, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bethesda Christian will head out to take on Clinton Prairie at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Greenwood Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to square off against Monrovia at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
