Soccer Game Preview: Jarrell vs. Florence

The Jarrell Cougars will head out to square off against the Florence Buffaloes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Jarrell will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Travis on Friday. Everything went Jarrell's way against Travis as Jarrell made off with a 5-0 victory. Considering the Cougars' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, Florence hadn't done well against Burnet recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Florence skirted past Burnet 3-2. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but the Buffaloes were the better team in the second half.

Florence's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-10 and their overall record up to 3-12. As for Jarrell, their record now sits at 4-6.

Everything went Jarrell's way against Florence in their previous matchup back in January, as Jarrell made off with a 7-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jarrell since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
