Softball Recap: Triad Cardinals vs. West Liberty-Salem Tigers
Triad was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Liberty-Salem Tigers. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
Haillei Jenkins made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Evelyn McCoy also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Triad's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for West Liberty-Salem, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
While Triad had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
