Basketball Game Preview: Buchanan Bucks vs. Otsego Bulldogs

The Buchanan Bucks will head out on the road to face off against the Otsego Bulldogs at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Buchanan is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

If Buchanan beats Otsego with 55 points on Wednesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Buchanan blew past Benton Harbor 55-15 on Thursday. That 40 point margin sets a new team best for the Bucks this season.

It was another big night for Katie Ailes, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten boards. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Carson, who posted 15 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Otsego). They walked away with a 66-59 victory over Paw Paw on Friday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Bulldogs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 252nd, while the Red Wolves are ranked 51st).

Otsego is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points per game. As for Buchanan, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-4.
