Basketball Recap: Audrey Lafleur's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Central over Geneseo

If Central was feeling good fresh off their 64-25 takedown of Dundee-Crown on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Central Rockets fell 45-37 to the Geneseo Maple Leafs on Saturday.

Central's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Audrey Lafleur, who posted 14 points and five boards. Lafleur continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Julia Scheuer was another key player, putting up nine points and five steals.

Central has been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 17 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-18 record this season. As for Geneseo, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-18.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central has already played their next game (against McHenry), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Geneseo will challenge Fulton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
