Basketball Recap: Bristol Bay Takes a Loss

Bristol Bay was the 64-15 winner over Fort Yukon when they last played one another back in January of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Bristol Bay Angels fell 38-28 to the Fort Yukon Eagles on Friday. The contest marked the Angels' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Bristol Bay lost, don't look at Olivia Harvilla. Despite the final result, she posted 18 points. The match was Harvilla's fifth in a row with at least 15 points.

Jane Ward was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 20 points. Kylee Carroll was another key player, putting up nine points.

Bristol Bay's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Fort Yukon, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Fort Yukon beat Bristol Bay by a score of 43-32 on Saturday.
