Discovery has been struggling as of late, and they have yet to win a game this season. 2025 welcomed they with an 8-0 loss courtesy of the Lake Wales Highlanders on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 566th, while the Highlanders are ranked 266th).

Discovery's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9-1. As for Lake Wales, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Discovery will venture away from home to take on Ridgeview Global Studies Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ridgeview Global Studies Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.2 goals per game this season. As for Lake Wales, they are taking a road trip to face off against Sebring at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
