Basketball Recap: Marion P. Thomas Comes Up Short

Marion P. Thomas lost against Cresskill back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The match between Marion P. Thomas and the Cresskill Cougars didn't end well, with Marion P. Thomas falling 67-51. Marion P. Thomas has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Marion P. Thomas saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Nairi Latham posted 30 points. Marion P. Thomas is 4-1 when Latham posts 30 or more points, but 5-11 otherwise.

Marion P. Thomas' loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Cresskill, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-10 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marion P. Thomas will challenge Golda Och Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Marion P. Thomas is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.3 points per game this season. As for Cresskill, they will square off against Bergen Tech at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Cresskill's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
