Football Recap: Canandaigua Academy Comes Up Short

Canandaigua Academy was the 49-6 winner over Churchville-Chili when they last played one another back in October of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Gray Wolves fell 43-36 to the Saints on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Gray Wolves came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Saints are ranked 257th).

This is the second loss in a row for Canandaigua Academy and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Churchville-Chili, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Canandaigua Academy is set to square off against their familiar foe Wilson Magnet at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Churchville-Chili will take on rival Greece Athena at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
