Baseball Recap: Sinton Snags 18th Victory in Last 19 Games

With a playoff win on the line, Sinton rose to the challenge on Thursday. They never let the Columbia Roughnecks get on the board and left with a 4-0 win.

Not much got past Keldon Kemp, who gave up just four hits and racked up six Ks to keep Columbia off the board. Kemp has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kash Wood was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Dylan Arriaga, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles and one stolen base.

Sinton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 19 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Columbia, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-13-2.

Sinton will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Roughnecks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
