Basketball Game Preview: Grace M. James Academy of Excellence GEMS vs. Valley Vikings

The Grace M. James Academy of Excellence GEMS will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Valley Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Back in January, Grace M. James Academy of Excellence took a blow against Central, falling 76-21. The GEMS have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Valley suffered their biggest loss since December 29, 2024 on Friday. They were outmatched by Central and fell 77-43. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 34th).

Grace M. James Academy of Excellence's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 21-5.
