Softball Recap: De La Salle Extends Home Winning Streak to Nine

De La Salle won the last time they faced Trinity and things went their way on Saturday too. The Meteors were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over the Blazers. The result was nothing new for the Meteors, who have now won five matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Analise Francois made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Kayla Kamradt and Alondra Soto did most of the damage at the plate: Kamradt went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Soto went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits Kamradt has posted since back in May of 2024. Brianna Gonzalez-Grimaldo also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

De La Salle was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Trinity only posted a batting average of .125.

De La Salle pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 11.9 runs this season. As for Trinity, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, De La Salle will be playing at home against Kennedy at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday. The Meteors will need to watch out since the Crusaders have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests. As for Trinity, they are taking a road trip to challenge IC Catholic Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
