Basketball Game Preview: Stayton Eagles vs. Newport Cubs

Stayton is a perfect 10-0 against Newport since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Stayton Eagles will host the Newport Cubs at 7:00 p.m. Stayton has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Last Friday, Stayton humbled Sweet Home with a 75-19 victory. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matches by 28 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Newport beat North Marion 50-45 on Tuesday.

Stayton's victory bumped their record up to 20-1. As for Newport, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10.

Everything came up roses for Stayton against Newport in their previous meeting back in January, as the team secured a 59-21 victory. Will Stayton repeat their success, or does Newport have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
