Recap: Diboll Lumberjacks vs. Pineywoods Community Academy Timberwolves
The Diboll Lumberjacks came tearing into Friday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 59-49 win over Pineywoods Community Academy. That's another feather in the cap for Diboll, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Leading Diboll to victory were Jadarian Kennerew and Malachai Mitchell. Kennerew dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds, while Mitchell scored 17 points along with six steals. Kennerew has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last eight times he's played. Zach Mitchell was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Diboll's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-9. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Pineywoods Community Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-12.
Diboll will head out on the road to take on Pollok Central at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pineywoods Community Academy, they will be playing at home against Woodville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
